Bit choice follows rock hardness and abrasiveness. Soft, broken ground favours a flat face with fewer, larger buttons that clear cuttings quickly. Hard, competent rock calls for a drop centre or concave face with more buttons spreading the impact. Getting this wrong shows up as button loss inside the first hundred metres.
Our range covers R32, T38, T45, T51 and RG or GT60. Mixing thread families across a string wears couplings fast. Send us the rod thread and we will supply bits, couplings and adaptors that belong together.
Surface work between 64mm and 140mm covers most of what we quote. Retrac skirts help in fractured ground where a standard bit gets stuck on the pull. If your crew is spending time freeing rods, retrac is usually the cheaper answer.
Keep a simple log of metres per bit by section. After two months the log tells you which supplier and which face design actually earns its price. We are happy to be judged on that number.
